what I like to do

Write about who you are in relation to your family and what you like to do?

I stand out from my family. I tend to go against the gain where they follow the gain. I live my life in today, and don't make plans, what ever happens, happens. In some ways I am very much like my family, and in other ways completely different than my family.

There are a lot of things I love to do, mostly I love to have fun. I love the beach in the summer and skiing in the winter. I also scuba diving which is my new love, I love the water. I like to watch sports, my two favorite are baseball and football. The teams that I love are the NY Giants and the Mets. I like to travel and see new places. This is just some of the things I like to do.

Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was born 2/20/1902 and died 4/22/1984. He is well known for his black and white photographs of the American West, his favorite place to take photos was at Yosemite National Park. He and Fred Archer developed the Zone System in 1955. The Zone System is a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast of the final print. This resulted in clarity and depth. He is also the founder of the Group f/64 and this group created the Museum of Modern Art's department of photography. The f/64 got it's name from a setting of a camera aperture that gives particularly good resolution and depth of field.

Ansel Adams was born in 1902 in San Francisco, California. Ansel Adams first camera was Kodak, Brownie Box. Adams first love was not photography instead it was playing the piano. When he was 12 years old he taught himself how to play the piano, and read music. Ansel Adams during his childhood found joy in nature. Adams love of nature was "nurtured in the Golden Gate, his life was, colored and modulated by the great earth gesture of the Yosemite National Park".

Ansel Adams's "Blowing Snow" from 1955

This is a famous picture from Ansel Adams. It was taken in 1955, called "Half Dome, Blowing Snow." All of Ansel Adams work is in black and white. When you look at this picture you can almost feel the snow blowing off the mountain, you also can feel cold looking at this picture. It looks like it is a windy day as you can see the snow blowing, the sun is going down as you can see the shadow from the sun on the mountain and where the picture was taken starting to get dark.
To get a picture during this time Ansel Adams had to hike and carry all of his equipment just to get a great shot. He did not set up any of his shots, took them as it happened, and the way nature gave it to him. All of Ansel Adams pictures for me is what I try to capture when I am taking pictures of landscapes. All of Ansel Adams photos are of landscapes and this is just one of many photos taken by Ansel Adams.

pratice

Take a few moments to consider all the purposes of the photographic image today (for example, family snapshots, fine art, etc.). We live in a visual society where we are bombarded by images...what is the point?

To me it is to capture a moment in time that we can share with everyone. That is either a happy moment or a sad moment. This is also for me the best way to express my artistic side. I love art and can't draw so for a person that wants to express how they are feeling they take pictures. Pictures can mean different things to different people, and that is the beauty about taken pictures. Pictures today are also more than just capturing a moment they are used in magazines, newspapers, books, billboards, and to sell products. Everywhere you look you see some type of photo expressing something.

Photo are also a great way to remember what was going on in that year. It is neat to look back and see what people were wearing in the 70's and 60's. This is the best way to describe what was happening in the past. I love this type of photos that show different time periods.

Florida

This is a great shot of pink Flamingos at Bush Gardens.
Love this shot of sunset at the beach in Clearwater FL. The sky has great color

Close up of the sun during sunset at the beach.

The plam trees with a back gound of sunset. This is what I think is a sihouette of the trees.

Thought this might make a great silhouette picture, and a nice picture of the sun reflection off the water.

Ny, and Vegas

Liberty State park in NJ. This is a cool shot from the parking lot. I thought it was cool that the flags were flying in between the Statue of Liberty
The Las Vegas strip at night. This was really cool to see, reminded me of Time Square at night with all the lights

The Hover Dam and Lake Mead.

The Grand Canyon. This was nice to see with the may different colors.

The Grand Canyon. This was the best shot to show all the colors and to show the different levels that were carved out over time.

frist assignments

I picked these 3 pictures because I like to take picture of landscapes and of things that are full of life and have plenty of color. Two of these pictures also represent what I love to do, skiing in the winter and scuba diving in the summer. I love to take pictures of anything this is my favorite type of art.

The first picture is on the ski slope at Mount Snow, the second is me scuba diving and the third is from a helicopter over Myrtle Beach.
